Member of the Pastel Society, Felicity House is a versatile artist who paints in watercolours, conte crayon and oils as well as pastels - (figure studies, interiors, landscapes). Born in Kent, she studied in Bristol, gaining her Batchelor of Education Honours degree in 1972. She moved to Dorset in 1985 and has since studied illustration and Fine Art at Bournemouth. She regularly exhibits at the RWA annual exhibition, Bristol, and in London with the Pastel Society. The New English Art Club, The Royal Institute of Watercolour Painters and at the Discerning Eye exhibition. She has won several awards and was elected member of the Pastel Society in 2003. She currently teaches life drawing at the Art Institute at Bournemouth. Felicity enjoys making instinctive and spontaneous paintings and drawings directly from the subject. These are often developed in the studio, edited into abstracted watercolour landscapes, but retaining the essence of place, and are worked in a limited but strong palette and contain sensitive graphic elements.
