Jo Dixon studied at Hammersmith College of Art and now lives in Devon. She is a distinguished oil painter specialising in studies of people, with particular emphasis on connecting the inner thoughts of her subject with those of the viewer. These works are projections of mood, thought and emotion rather than portraits. She exhibits widely in England, Scotland, Wales and the South West including with the RWA in Bristol, the South West Academy of Fine and Applied Arts, Exeter where in 2003 she won the Marine House Award for outstanding work.
