Jean Winter gained her B.A. in Fine Art Painting at Portsmouth Polytechnic 1971-1974, after which took Post-Graduate Studies at Rolle College, Exmouth, Devon (1975-6). She paints using a variety of media - oils, acrylics, watercolour and mixed media - and her subject matter is equally varied: architectural subjects, flowers and landscapes are favourites. She has taken part in numerous exhibitions including at the Snape Maltings, Suffolk, 1996, The Studio Gallery, Blackford, Somerset, 1996, the Atkinson Gallery, Millfield Somerset, 1995, the Royal West of England Academy, Bristol 1982, 1989 and 1995, and the Sadler Street Gallery Wells from 1994 onwards.
